The Michigan State University Comics Forum 2009 is pleased to announce that it is accepting entries for the 2009 Original Comics Collection.

Ten finalists will be chosen from among the entries, from which judges will will choose a single winner who will receive a $150 award.  Entries will be judged based on their creativity, quality, and storytelling.  The work of all finalists will be displayed at the Michigan State University Comics Forum 2009 (March 27th and 28th), and be collected, archived, and preserved in the Comic Art Collection housed in Michigan State University’s Special Collections.  All genres are welcome and will be considered.

All entries must be an original, self contained story of no more than 10 pages (i.e., not the first ten pages of larger graphic novel).

All entries must meet the following technical guidelines:

5″x7.5″

600 DPI

TIFF (w/ LZW compression)

Each page should be an individual TIFF file, whose filename is the story name and page number (ie. fredsadventure01.tiff, fredsadventure02.tiff, etc.)

All entries must meet the following submission guidelines:

A link to where a single .zip or .rar file containing all of your submission’s pages can be downloaded must be emailed to msucomicsforum@gmail.com.  Alternatively, If the size of your submission does not exceed 20mb, it can be sent as an attachment (single .zip or .rar file) to msucomicsforum@gmail.com.

All entries must be received before midnight on March 24th

All entries must be accompanied by a submission form

Entries that do not meet these guidelines will not be considered.  Creators will retain full rights to there work and The MSU Comics Forum will have rights for promotional purposes.
